Requirements
Becoming a surrogate is a significant decision that requires meeting certain criteria to ensure the health and well-being of both the surrogate and the baby. These are the requirements you need to meet to become a surrogate with Texas Surrogacy Center:
- Age: 23-37
- BMI: 19-29
- Non-smoker for 2+ years, in a non-smoking home
- Clean criminal background
- Undergo psychological screening
- Supportive spouse, partner, friend, or family member
- Agree to a home study with all residents and pets
- US citizen or legal permanent resident
- Must have given birth to at least one child
- Able to obtain OB/GYN records and doctor's clearance
- No more than 4 deliveries and 2 c-sections
- Uncomplicated pregnancies and deliveries
- Not receiving government assistance
- Financially stable
Compensation
As a surrogate with Texas Surrogacy Center, you can earn between $50,000 and $80,000 in base compensation, plus additional allowances for expenses like monthly costs, multiples, and maternity clothing, all covered by the intended parents. Total compensation is determined based on factors like location, carrying multiples, and prior surrogacy experience, with higher demand in certain areas potentially leading to higher pay.
Along with the base compensation, surrogates may be eligible for additional compensation, as agreed upon in advance. The specific amounts and criteria for receiving this additional compensation will be clearly detailed in your surrogacy contract. These additional compensations can vary depending on circumstances and may include:
- Monthly Expense Allowance (for non-accountable incidentals)
- Lost Wages
- Multiple Fetuses
- Maternity Clothing Allowance
- Start of Medication
- Embryo Transfer
- Invasive Procedures (amniocentesis, c-section, etc.)
- Housekeeping and/or Child Care
